Birth and Breastfeeding: Evidence-Based Information and Support
This year’s new BEBES Co-Leaders, Val and Kim, are both second year MPH students in Maternal and Child Health. They are both committed to serving vulnerable populations and advocating for health related to women and children.
This upcoming year under their leadership, BEBES plans to offer educational excursions in the community to provide opportunities for students and others to learn more about breastfeeding and birth. They also intend to have their signature annual event, Sexual Health Trivia Night, during the second semester. It will be a great way for students as well as others in the community to come together and learn about sexual and reproductive health in a fun way. They are also excited for collaborations with CGBI on a new project related to the Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities (BFFC) Designation for Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
The BEBES diaper drive was so successful last year that they have gained the attention of the HR Department at SPH, who would like to contribute to this year’s drive effort. Stay tuned for a collaborative fall event related to donating items that can help needy families in our area. All are looking forward to another wonderful year with BEBES! Please email with any questions.
